Jessica Lennard is an attorney at Mike Slocumb Law Firm’s office in Gulfport, Mississippi, where she represents personal injury clients in cases involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and slip and falls. Detail-oriented and analytical, she develops strong case theories and locates valuable evidence to prove those theories before proceeding to aggressively negotiate with the insurance company for a fair recovery for her client.
Born in New Orleans, Ms. Lennard moved to Mississippi as a teenager. There, she obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Mississippi before returning to New Orleans to earn her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. During law school, she served as a student practitioner for the District Attorney’s Office and the Independent Police Monitor.
At age 19, Ms. Lennard suffered compression fractures at T12 and T13 in a car crash. It took three years to settle her case, and she was frustrated by both the process and the result. In her practice, she uses that experience to help her anticipate and identify her clients’ needs so she can make the process as smooth as possible for them. She approaches her practice by assessing each case from both the plaintiff’s and the defendant’s perspectives. She tailors her investigations to anticipate any potential weaknesses and develop evidence to refute those weaknesses.
A defining moment is Ms. Lennard’s career occurred after one of her clients was seriously injured by a drunk driver. The at-fault driver’s liability insurance coverage was only $25,000. Ms. Lennard was able to locate significant personal assets of the defendant and ultimately get the case settled for $325,000.
Ms. Lennard is admitted to the Bar in all Mississippi state and federal courts. Her professional memberships include the Harrison County Young Lawyers Association and the Women in the Profession Committee. She also volunteers as a judge for the high school mock trial competition.
In her free time, Ms. Lennard enjoys reading, participating in book clubs, attending concerts, and painting.
