Jason Goren is an attorney at the Mike Slocumb Law Firm’s Washington, D.C. office. An experienced personal injury lawyer, he thrives on the ability to help the less fortunate and those struggling to navigate extremely challenging times in their lives. He focuses his practice primarily on cases involving car accidents and premises liability, including slip and fall claims.
Prior to joining Mike Slocumb Law Firm, Mr. Goren worked in private practice for a firm in Baltimore, representing individuals in all types of personal injury and workers’ compensation matters. He is a seasoned attorney, with nearly a decade of experience in his field, and has been selected for inclusion in the Super Lawyers® Rising Stars℠ list, an honor awarded to no more than 2.5% of attorneys in any given state.
Mr. Goren grew up in Owings Mills, Maryland, where he attended Owings Mills High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University before going on to obtain his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. During law school, Mr. Goren served as a student attorney with the university’s Civil Advocacy Clinic, representing indigent clients. He was also a member of the National Telecommunications Moot Court team.
Mr. Goren is committed to fighting against insurance companies for the compensation of injured people. He does not back down; he is willing to take each case to trial to fight for full, fair recoveries for his clients. He believes everyone has a story to tell and prides himself on learning just how his clients’ injuries have affected their lives. Mr. Goren has tried hundreds of cases before the Maryland District and Circuit Courts, the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission, and the Social Security Administration. Defining moments in his career include a three-day jury trial in the U.S. District Court, District of Maryland in Baltimore, which resulted in a $300,000 award for his client, as well as a two-day jury trial in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County that resulted in a $212,000 award for his client.
Mr. Goren has been admitted to the District of Columbia Bar, the Maryland State Bar, and the Virginia State Bar, along with the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He is a member of the Maryland Association of Justice and the Maryland State Bar.
When he is not working, Mr. Goren enjoys spending time with his wife and his son, Cody.
