Holly Smith

Attorney

Holly Smith was present at the Boston Bombing. After details began emerging about the victims, she became fixated on helping the helpless and seeking justice through the legal system. This is what drew her to the practice of law.

Holly was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and relocated to Boston, Massachusetts. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Brandeis University, where she captained the women’s soccer team to three NCAA appearances. After receiving her B.A. from Brandeis, Mrs. Smith moved to Birmingham, Alabama to be with family and to attend law school. She received her Juris Doctorate from Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. Today Holly Smith is an attorney in the Mike Slocumb Law Firm’s Birmingham office.

When she is not working, Holly has a number of ways to relax. She enjoys weekend beach trips with friends, going to the gym, baking with her mom, trying new coffee shops with her younger sister, going to the range with her younger brother, and going on hikes with her German Shepherd pup, Dante. Holly Smith is also an active parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church in Homewood, Alabama.

Mrs. Smith is a sociable person who creates strong personal connections with clients and other attorneys. Combined with her legal knowledge, this quality helps her obtain productive and successful outcomes. She tries to let her clients know they have an attorney to whom they can voice their wants and needs, and who has their best interests in mind.

Holly is open and honest with clients, while maintaining a solid working connection to leave no question unanswered. She is kind to her clients but aggressive to large insurance companies. This is what generates the beneficial outcomes in her cases.

Her approach begins with ensuring clients their interests will always come first. This starts with taking the legal burden off the clients as public policy is debated and weighed against moral arguments on who should bear the cost of harm of conflicting opinions. A kind but aggressive approach leads to a successful outcome.

Holly A. Smith is admitted to the Alabama State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers Section and the Women’s Section.
